Global smartphone sales up 6.7%, Samsung leads

Global sales of smartphones increased by 6.7% to 366.2 million in the April-June quarter of 2017 over a year ago. After three straight quarterly declines, Samsung registered 7.5% volume growth, maintaining its market share. While Apple’s market share declined slightly, three Chinese brands—Huawei, Oppo and Vivo—posted increases.
