IPL brand value increases 26% to $5.3 billion

The brand value of the Indian Premier League (IPL)—the city-based, annual T20 cricket format—has increased 26% to $5.3 billion in 2017, according to a report released by Duff & Phelps. The increase in brand value comes on the back of title sponsorship deals and an expected increase in the price of the tournament’s broadcast and digital media rights, which will be auctioned on August 28.
