The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) on Saturday issued an alert for an email-based ransomware called Locky, which is reportedly spreading through 23 million messages. In circulation via spam mails, Locky scrambles the contents of a server or computer and demands payment in Bitcoins to unlock it. In the last six years, CERT-In has handled around 3.4 lakh security incidents and issued 111 security alerts.
