India’s coffee output projected to increase 12% in 2017-18

Coffee output in India in 2017-18 is estimated to increase 12% to 350,400 metric tonnes, according to the state-run Coffee Board. The figure includes 103,100 tons of Arabica and 247,300 tons of the Robusta variety. In 2016-17, output had fallen 10.3%. Among states, output in Karnataka, which accounts for about 70% of India’s coffee production, is projected to grow by 13.5% in 2017-18.
